The company chose the most difficult challenge in applying for the BRC standard in order to have a competitive advantage and be the preferred partner in both global export markets and Estonian retail.
The acquisition of the BRC standard marks the beginning of a new stage in the company’s development, which will allow to expand existing export portfolio even more vigorously.
The company’s investment in BRC certification was approximately € 100,000. In the pre-certification audit, Chaga achieved the highest possible result, which is a proof of a world-class quality and safety. The initial investment will be very profitable in the long run, as it allows export markets to multiply sales. Chaga has focused on green innovation and has been the first in Estonia to start sustainable nature enhancement, which is, for example, creating an alternative to deforestation through the establishment of chaga farms.

The first product to reach the counters after the BRC standard has been awarded is Chaga Health Basic Elixir, which contains only naturally occurring birch sugar from chaga in addition to the elixir bases. In today’s changing environment, people’s awareness of increasing the body’s resistance is on the rise. The company has very strict rules for picking up and handling chaga. In addition, a metal detector for production control and state-of-the-art sensor systems for production monitoring. The factory checks the quality from receiving of the raw material to the very end of production. When receiving Chaga and other raw materials, the quality is checked in the factory laboratory, and the international profiling laboratory EuroFins is used for more complex analyzes.
Production quality is checked at several stages during production. After production, a random inspection takes place, the last stage of quality control is at the end of the product “best before”. This is to ensure the good quality of the product even on the last official sales day. For the sake of food waste and sustainability, Chaga Health elixirs are of high quality even long after the “best before” date.
